September 11, 2001 left the world in shock, horror, and fear as two airliners crashed into the World Trade Center.  No doubt this day will forever go down in history, a day the world will never forget, a day that will stay in human minds as long as this world remains. A day that the prophet Zephaniah describes as: ‘A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.’ {Zephaniah 1:16} A day that the prophet Isaiah describes where: “forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.” {Isaiah 32:14-15} This in effect is what happened after the events of 2011. The place where the twin towers stood is now a ‘den’ for a memorial. The towers will never be replaced in that site. Two large voids now encompass the footprints of the original Twin Towers, located within a field of trees. Surrounded by waterfalls, each enormous pool of water flows away into an abyss creating a continuous stream of flowing water.

This that Isaiah prophesied became a ‘joy of wild asses’. This is referring to the Islamic Nation as the words spoken of Ishmael is that “he will be a wild man; his hand [will be] against every man, and every man’s hand against him.” {Genesis 16:12} The term ‘wild’ can also be translated ‘ass’. It is the same Hebrew word used in Isaiah 32:14. The Arabian ass is a well know symbol for Islam and as the wild descendants of the Ishmaelite rejoiced following 2001. As we see the spirit of Ishmael continue to be manifested through his descendents, ‘his hand being against every man’ which led to a restraint being placed upon Islam in 2001, the Lord begins to form a pasture for his flocks. The Spirit begins to be poured out from on high making ‘the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest’. Not only do we see this being literally fulfilled as the footprints of the original Twin Towers are now located within a field of trees surrounded by waterfalls where each enormous pool of water flows away into an abyss… but also spiritually as Christ now begins to water his children spiritually. Let us understand that the Words which Christ speaks are ‘spirit and they are life’ {John 6:63} His ‘doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass’ {Deuteronomy 32:2} “After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them. And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide [as] for the latter rain.” {Job 29: 22-23}

The latter rain, which is first poured out in measure before the full outpouring of the Spirit, is a special message that God communicates to His people. This special message is designed to enable them to reflect the full image of Jesus so they receive the seal of God as well as stand in the times of trouble as it is only ‘By the increase of knowledge a people is to be prepared to stand in the latter days.’ – {2 Selected Messages 105.1} As you continue through this newsletter, you will find this increase of knowledge is also in reference to the understanding that Islam plays in bible prophecy as the children of the East mark a very important time period where the Lord begins to perform a special work for His children. It was glad tidings from the East that came from the three wise men of the east that were used to inform the Jews that it was the time of their visitation. A time where the Lord was seeking for His professed children to bear fruit meet for repentance yet the majority rejected this. Likewise it was the message from the east, which involved the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1840 that marked the Christian churches visitation between 1840-1844. It was the understanding of the role of Islam in Bible Prophecy that paved way for the glorious manifestation of the power of God where He began to seal his people intellectually and spiritually so they could move with Him by faith into the Most Holy apartment. And so shall it be for this final generation. There is nothing new under the sun and God required that which is past in order to understand the closing scenes of this earths history. September 11th 2001 plays a significant role in Bible prophecy that is imperative for Seventh Day Adventists to understand and its our prayer that before you continue to read this newsletter, you may breath a prayer for the Holy Spirit to come down upon you and guide you in all truth and understanding so that you may understand these solemn truths in order to be able to stand in these latter days.

Past Histories Will be Repeated in the Sprinkling of the Latter Rain

An important principle to understand when studying Bible Prophecy is that “The prophets spoke less for their own time than for the ages which have followed and for our own day.”{The Signs of the Times, 04-02-96} Also “Each of the ancient prophets spoke less for their own time than for ours, so that their prophesying is in force for us.” {3Selected Messages 338.1} The testimony of the scriptures are in complete harmony with this statement as we are told: “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come” {1 Corinthians 10:11}. “Not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into” {1 Peter 1:12}. This confirms that all the prophets were telling the same kind of story and that story is in relation to the events that are to transpire at the end of world hence why we are told: “In the Revelation all books of the Bible meet and end. Here is the complement of the book of Daniel”. {Acts of the Apostles 585} It contains 550 references to the Old Testament passages. The revelator repeats the past in prophesying the future – the past is repeated but it is enlarged upon. The New Testament writers go over the history of the past building it in relation to the present and future to demonstrate how the will of God is being fulfilled.

The above paragraph is true for the statement made by the prophet Isaiah in chapter 27:8-9. This passage will be the focus of our study: “In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind. By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this [is] all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.” The time of visitation for God’s professed people is illustrated in these two verses. It identifies a time when the Holy Spirit begins to be outpoured in order for the people of God to receive his seal in order to stand in a time of trouble, disappointment and delay. Note that we are “sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.” {Ephesians 1:13} By the statement ‘In measure, when it shooteth forth’ Isaiah is referring to the Holy Spirit. Speaking of Christ we are told: “For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him” {John 3:34} Christ received the full outpouring of the Holy Spirit, but to the Church of God, it is given in measure. First is the ‘dew as the small rain upon the herb’ and then ‘as the showers upon the grass’. We see this in the life of the disciples, first the Lord breathes upon them the Holy Ghost before they received the full out-pouring on the day of Pentecost identifying a progressive outpouring of the Holy Spirit: “The act of Christ in breathing upon his disciples the Holy Ghost, and in imparting his peace to them, was as a few drops before the plentiful shower to be given on the day of Pentecost.” {3 Spirit of Prophecy 243} Speaking of the latter days, the Lord tells us: “I will correct thee in measure” {Jeremiah 30:11}. The Holy Spirit works in three key stages and that is to reprove the world of ‘sin, righteousness and judgment’. Christ had no sin, therefore is declared of Him: “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” (Hebrews 1:9) Because he had no spot or wrinkle in Him, he received the Holy Spirit without measure.

Nevertheless when the Spirit begins too be poured out, in measure for the church, two classes begin to be developed. As Isaiah states: ‘thou wilt debate this’. We see this in the life of Christ. It was tidings that came from the east to announce the time of visitation to the Jewish people. “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the East to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the East, and are come to worship Him.” {Matthew 2:1-2} The report of the wise men coming from the East was noised throughout Jerusalem, they were diligent students of prophecy and understood that it was the time of visitation but the Jewish leaders debated this. Speaking of the Jewish leaders: “They determined to show their contempt for the reports that were exciting King Herod and all Jerusalem. They would not even go to Bethlehem to see whether these things were so. And they led the people to regard the interest in Jesus as a fanatical excitement. Here began the rejection of Christ by the priests and rabbis. From this point their pride and stubbornness grew into a settled hatred of the Saviour. While God was opening the door to the Gentiles, the Jewish leaders were closing the door to themselves.” {Desire of Ages 62-63} All throughout the life of Christ, they accused him of being an imposter; it was the unlearned men that were able to recognize that this man was the messiah. As prophesied by Isaiah, whenever the Holy Spirit begins to be poured out, one class recognizes this, the other does not.

Likewise it was tidings out of the East that identified the time of visitation for the Millerites. This message was in relation to fall of the Ottoman Empire, an Islamic power in 1840: “In the year 1840 another remarkable fulfillment of prophecy excited widespread interest. Two years before, Josiah Litch, one of the leading ministers preaching the second advent, published an exposition of Revelation 9, predicting the fall of the Ottoman Empire. According to his calculations, this power was to be overthrown “in A.D. 1840, sometime in the month of August;” and only a few days previous to its accomplishment he wrote: “Allowing the first period, 150 years, to have been exactly fulfilled before Deacozes ascended the throne by permission of the Turks, and that the 391 years, fifteen days, commenced at the close of the first period, it will end on the 11th of August, 1840, when the Ottoman power in Constantinople may be expected to be broken. And this, I believe, will be found to be the case.”–Josiah Litch, in Signs of the Times, and Expositor of Prophecy, Aug. 1, 1840. At the very time specified, Turkey, through her ambassadors, accepted the protection of the allied powers of Europe, and thus placed herself under the control of Christian nations. The event exactly fulfilled the prediction. When it became known, multitudes were convinced of the correctness of the principles of prophetic interpretation adopted by Miller and his associates, and a wonderful impetus was given to the advent movement. Men of learning and position united with Miller, both in preaching and in publishing his views, and from 1840 to 1844 the work rapidly extended.” {Great Controversy 334-335}

This event is signified by the angel of Revelation 10 coming down to the earth with great power in order to empower the message.  This angel is none other but a ‘personage of Jesus Christ’ who is identifying through the prophetic word that it is the time of their visitation and the Lord is expecting ‘ fruit meet for repentance’ in order to move with Him by faith into the Most Holy Place. The proclamation of the first and second angels message during this time period led many to search the scriptures for themselves and as they recognized the nearness of Christ’s coming it led them to confess all their sins and make any wrongs right with one another. This deep searching of heart, this recognition that it was the time of their visitation led many to receive the midnight cry, which was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit: “As the bright light of the “midnight cry” had shone upon their pathway, and they had seen the prophecies unsealed and the rapidly fulfilling signs telling that the coming of Christ was near, they had walked, as it were, by sight. But now, bowed down by disappointed hopes, they could stand only by faith in God and in His word. The scoffing world were saying: “You have been deceived. Give up your faith, and say that the advent movement was of Satan.” But God’s word declared: “If any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.” To renounce their faith now, and deny the power of the Holy Spirit which had attended the message, would be drawing back toward perdition. They were encouraged to steadfastness by the words of Paul: “Cast not away therefore your confidence;” “ye have need of patience,” “for yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.” Their only safe course was to cherish the light which they had already received of God, hold fast to His promises, and continue to search the Scriptures, and patiently wait and watch to receive further light.” {Great Controversy 408}

Again, this history demonstrates that when the Holy Spirit is poured out, one class rejects this, the other accepts this. This increase of knowledge announcing the time of their visitation was first presented to the church but sadly they rejected this: “In June, 1842, Mr. Miller gave his second course of lectures at Casco Street church in Portland [Maine]… with few exceptions, the different denominations closed the doors of the churches against Mr. Miller.” {Testimonies, volume 1, 21}. Judgment first begins in the House of God and by rejecting this special message the Lord shut the door to the established churches who were now left offering their prayers to Satan in the Holy Apartment that Jesus had left. {Early Writings 261} The rejection of the increase of knowledge relating to the prophecies is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost as ‘prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost’ {2 Peter 1:21} and Christ tells us that: “All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men” {Matthew 12:31}

Sadly the Laodecian church will repeat the same history fulfilling the words of Isaiah. They will debate the sprinkling and the outpouring of the latter rain simply because it comes in a manner they least expect. “There is to be in the [Seventh-day Adventist] churches a wonderful manifestation of the power of God, but it will not move upon those who have not humbled themselves before the Lord, and opened the door of the heart by confession and repentance. In the manifestation of that power which lightens the earth with the glory of God, they will see only something which in their blindness they think dangerous, something which will arouse their fears, and they will brace themselves to resist it. Because the Lord does not work according to their ideas and expectations they will oppose the work. “Why,” they say, “should we not know the Spirit of God, when we have been in the work so many years?”– {Last Day Events 209.3} The third angel’s message will not be comprehended, the light which will lighten the earth with its glory will be called a false light, by those who refuse to walk in its advancing glory.– {Last Day Events 210.1}

So it is clear that whenever the Holy Spirit begins to fall, two classes begin developing. It has also been shown that it is ‘tidings out of the East’ in both the history of Christ and the Millierties; which has been, documented more for our time than the time it was written in order to identify the time of visitation and so it will be in this generation. The message from the east plays a crucial role in intellectually and spiritually sealing God’s people so they cannot be moved. It is also interesting to note that the angel that has the seal of God to seal the servants of God in their forehead ascends out of the east. {Revelation 7:2-3} Continuing on in Isaiah 27:8-9, the prophet writes: “he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind. By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged;” The term ‘Stayeth’ can also be translated as ‘restrained’ and in Revelation 7 we see four angels holding back / or restraining the four winds in order for the servants of God to be sealed in their forehead. “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. {Revelation 7:1-3}

By paralleling Isaiah 27:8 and Revelation 7:1-3 we see that it is during the restraining time, God begins to seal His people intellectually and spiritually into the truth. The purpose of the angels being restrained is so that the servants of God can receive the seal of God, which is designed to protect them in the time of trouble and this sealing process must take place before the close of probation. We are told: “When the decree goes forth and the stamp is impressed, their character will remain pure and spotless for eternity. Now is the time to prepare” (Faith I Live By 288.3) This decree is in reference to when the Sunday law is passed: “Sundaykeeping is not yet the mark of the beast, and will not be until the DECREE GOES FORTH causing men to worship this idol sabbath. {Faith I Live By 286.6}” “Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads—it is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot be moved—just as soon as God’s people are sealed and prepared for the shaking, it will come. Indeed, it has begun already.”—The S.D.A. Bible Commentary 4:1161 (1902). – {Last Day Events 219.4}

So the sealing process does not take place at the Sunday Law but before that time period for God’s church. Isaiah identifies that this process begins in ‘the day of the East Wind’ which is when the angels are being restraining so the servants of God can be sealed in their foreheads. Therefore in order to pinpoint when the sealing process begins, a sealing process that is designed to seal God’s servants intellectually and Spiritually so they cannot be moved, we must understand what the Bible means by ‘the day of the East Wind’ and this will be our focus in the next section.

The Day of the East Wind in Past Histories

“And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.” {Exodus 10:13} It was the east wind that brought the locusts upon Egypt. These locusts were plagues/judgments against Egypt for refusing to obey the Lord’s commandment. Located east of Egypt is the Arab world; Ishmael’s descendants who located in the East have always been identified as locusts in the Bible. “And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.” {Judges 7:12}. The term ‘grasshoppers’ can be translated as locusts as it is the same Hebrew word used for locusts in Exodus 10:13. This is the same in Judges 6:5: “For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.”  The children of the east have always been identified as locusts in the Bible and this is a term they also reference themselves by. In fact, because of Nato’s operations in Libya, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi stated “If we decide to, we are able to move to Europe like LOCUSTS, like bees. We advise you to retreat before you are dealt a disaster,” BBC News – July 2011 {} Today we still see the spirit of Ishmael being manifested in his descendants. ‘his hand against every man.’ Through the Locust plague against the Egyptians, the Lord is communicating a special message to his servants; a message that only the wise will understand. Before the cross everything is literal after it is Spiritual {1 Corinthians 15:46}. The first three plagues that the Lord commanded affected “all the land of Egypt,” while the last seven did not affect the children of Israel. The locust plague can be identified as the ‘fifth’ plague that did not affect the children Israel but was solely a judgment upon Egypt. This parallels the fifth trumpet, which is also identified as a plague. Referring to the trumpets. John writes: “And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands,” {Revelation 9:20} It is in the fifth trumpet, locusts are again brought to view to identify the day of the east wind in a spiritual context.

“And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” {Revelation 9:1-6}

As locusts are identified as Children of the East – this power that arises from the bottomless pit can only be Islam, a new religion that quickly spread across the East as ‘a multitude’. As they went forth to conquer, it was commanded that: “they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.” History shows that this was a decree that came from Abubeker the successor of Mohamed. His command to the Ishmaelite’s was: “When you fight the battles of the lord, acquit yourselves like men, without turning your backs; but let not your victory be stained with the blood of women or children. Destroy no palm trees, nor burn any field of corn. Cut down no fruit trees, nor do any mischief to cattle, only such as you kill to eat. When you make a covenant … stand to it and be as good as your word. As you go on, you will find some religious persons, who live retired in monasteries, and propose to themselves to serve God that way: let them alone and neither kill them nor destroy their monasteries. And you will find another sort of people that belong to the synagogue of Satan, who have shaven crowns; be sure you cleave their skulls, and give them no quarter, till they either turn Mahometans or pay tribute. Abubeker’s command {Edward Gibbon ‘Decline & Fall’!, Vol.V:489-490.}

Those who Abubeker commanded then not to kill neither to destroy their monasteries were those who belonged to the Nestorian Church who were observers of the true Sabbath. These true christians became the teachers of the Saracens, and were responsible for establishing an educational system in Syria, Mesopotamia, Turkestan, Tibet, China, India, Ceylon, and other areas.” {See B. G. Wilkinson, Truth Triumphant, pg. 268-291} These were the ones who had the seal of God as they kept the Sabbath, therefore no harm could come their way. The Arab nation were restrained from killing, permission was only given for them to torment and during the restraining period, those who had the seal of God were fully protected. However as we move to the second woe which is within the sixth trumpet, it was now commanded: “Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. {Revelation 9:15}

These angels were loosed for 391 years and 15 days beginning July 1499; so prior to that, these angles must have been restrained, hence they were only given permission to torment. In the 1st woe we see a sealing period because there is a restraint as the ‘Lord restraineth the rough wind in the day of the East Wind.’ However when the second woe arrives, there is a change, there is now a command to loose the four winds. According to the prophetic calculation this was to end on August 11th 1840. The bible identifies that they were loosed for a specific time period which was the 391 and 15 year time period so immediately after this prophecy was ended, the four angels could only be but restrained as there was an allocated time prophecy and this was fulfilled when the Christian powers put a restraint on Islam {See Great Controversy 334-335}. Whenever the four winds are restrained during the time of the east wind, in measure the fruit begins to shooteth forth. God begins to pour out His spirit in order for His servants to stand in the latter days and he does this through an increase of knowledge in regards to the prophecies during the Millerite time period. We already saw see this during 1840-1844 when the angels were held in check in order not to prevent the work of the angel in revelation 10 who comes down exactly on 1840. The message is empowered in 1840 as result of their understanding of the prophetic word, it crossed the broad waters, was proclaimed in other countries, even to the entire world. he then pours out His Spirit at the midnight cry and those who had a genuine experience in the Lord were able to stand during the great disappointment in 1844 as they knew that God was with them. It is those who humbly walk with the advanced light, God begins to seal them as “He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true” {John 3:33} This testimony is the testimony of Jesus Christ and the testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy, which he had declared to His servants the prophecy.

It is by the restraining of the East Winds that the ‘iniquity of Jacob shall be purged’ whenever the four winds have been restrained, there is a sealing process. This sealing process is always identified by the children of the East; the locusts whom the Lord uses to identify the time of their visitation through the prophetic word is so they can eradicate sin from their lives by the power of the Holy Spirit in order to meet a Holy God. We have been counseled time and time again that what took place during the Millerite history will be repeated. “We have nothing to fear for the future except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us, and his teaching in our past history.” {Life Sketches 196} After 1844, there will be no time prophecy, however we have the histories of the past and though understanding past histories, we can pin-point where we are in this earths history and what we can expect the next event as prophecy is seen as a  “delineation of events which would transpire under the first and second angels Messages”. These messages were proclaimed between 1840-1844 and we have been told these histories will be repeated and today we already see them happening. “Temptations are being brought in by men who have been long in the truth. The truths that we received in 1841,‘42, ‘43, and ‘44 are now to be studied and proclaimed. The messages of the first, second, and third angels will in the future be proclaimed with a loud voice. They will be given with earnest determination and in the power of the Spirit.” {Manuscript Releases, volume 15, 31}

The Day of the East Wind Today

In 2001 after the planes crashed into the twin towers, President Bush declares: “Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.” Here we see a restraint placed upon Islam paralleling the history of what took place in 1840. Regarding Islam crashing into the twin towers, many would argue that it was not Islam but the CIA or another organization that orchestrated the event, but the primary factor that the Lord desires us to recognize is that a restraint was placed upon Islam following the falling of the towers opening an increase of knowledge relating to the prophecies. In vision, Mrs. White writes:

“How comes the word that I have declared that New York is to be swept away by a tidal wave? This I have never said. I have said, as I looked at the great buildings going up there, story after story, ‘What terrible scenes will take place when the Lord shall arise to shake terribly the earth! Then the words of Rev. 18:1-3 will be fulfilled.’ The whole of the eighteenth chapter of Revelation is a warning of what is coming on the earth. But I have no light in particular in regard to what is coming on New York, only that I know that one day the great buildings there will be thrown down by the turning and overturning of God’s power. From the light given me, I know that destruction is in the world. One word from the Lord, one touch of his mighty power, and these massive structures will fall.” {Review and Herald, July 5, 1906 par. 14, and Life Sketches 411.5}

Above we are told that “great buildings” in New York, consisting of “story after story”, “will be thrown down”, and when “these massive structures will fall”, “Then the words of Revelation 18:1-3 will be fulfilled”. Please note, the exact verses Ellen White chose to be fulfilled. It was not the entire chapter of Revelation 18, but only the first 3 verses. Here is marked the beginning of the latter rain, the sealing time period. Just as the angel of revelation 10 came down to empower the message marking the beginning of the sealing time for the Millerites, so it is for us at the end of the world. This time for us it is the angel of revelation 18 who comes down. Also note that she says: ‘’What terrible scenes will take place when the Lord shall ARISE to shake terribly the earth! Then the words of Rev. 18:1-3 will be fulfilled” When the Lord begins to arise; it always marks judgment (See Isaiah 3:13, Psalm 82:8 Psalm 7:6). It is from this point forward; judgment now passes on to the living. When the sprinkling of the latter rain arrives and the sealing of God’s people is initiated the judgment of the living begins.

The book of Acts clearly teaches that we must send our sins beforehand into judgment in order to receive “the refreshing” that Sister White further identifies as the latter rain. Therefore when the latter rain begins to sprinkle we have reached the time when the sins of the living are being blotted out. Our lives need to be investigated and judged prior to the blotting out. ‘It is by this, ‘shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this [is] all the fruit to take away his sin;’ “The work of the investigative judgment and the blotting out of sins is to be accomplished before the second advent of the Lord. Since the dead are to be judged out of the things written in the books, it is impossible that the sins of men should be blotted out until after the judgment at which their cases are to be investigated. But the apostle Peter distinctly states that the sins of believers will be blotted out ‘when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and He shall send Jesus Christ.’ Acts 3:19–20.” {The Great Controversy, 485.} The sealing process that begins when the latter rain begins to sprinkle first confronts Adventism, for it is accomplished in conjunction with the investigative judgment—and judgment begins at the house of God. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? {1Peter 4:17, 18}

The judgment of the living begins in Adventism prior to the Sunday law for it will determine who will stand or fall at the Sunday law test. “Says the prophet: ‘They began at the ancient men which were before the house.’ {Ezekiel 9:1–6} The work of destruction begins among those who have professed to be the spiritual guardians of the people. The false watchmen are the first to fall.” {The Great Controversy, 656} The closing work of the 144,000 takes place during the judgment of the living. During this time two classes within the church are judged and their characters are finalized prior to the demonstration that they will make at the Sunday law test, for at the Sunday law we will manifest either a character prepared for the mark of the beast or the seal of God.

“It is in a crisis that character is revealed. When the earnest voice proclaimed at midnight, ‘Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him,’ and the sleeping virgins were roused from their slumbers, it was seen who had made preparation for the event. Both parties were taken unawares; but one was prepared for the emergency, and the other was found without preparation. So now, a sudden and unlooked-for calamity, something that brings the soul face to face with death, will show whether there is any real faith in the promises of God. It will show whether the soul is sustained by grace. The great final test comes at the close of human probation, when it will be too late for the soul’s need to be supplied. “The ten virgins are watching in the evening of this earth’s history. All claim to be Christians. All have a call, a name, a lamp, and all profess to be doing God’s service. All apparently wait for Christ’s appearing. But five are unready. Five will be found surprised, dismayed, outside the banquet hall.” {Christ’s Object Lessons, 12}

“This sealing of the servants of God is the same that was shown to Ezekiel in vision. John also had been a witness of this most startling revelation.” {Testimonies to Ministers, 445} Remember, all books of the bible meet and end in the revelation and all prophets are writing more for out time, than the time they were living and when we parallel Ezekiel’s vision in Ezekiel 9, with Revelation 7:1-4. We are able to see that this sealing time is the time of the judgment of the living which first begins in ‘His sanctuary’. It also identifies a sealing time period as the angel is commanded to: “set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof” {Ezekiel 9:4} Marking the beginning of the latter rain as we are ‘sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise’ when that other angel begins ascending from the East with the seal of the living God {Revelation 7:1-2}

“…in the sealing time of the one hundred and forty-four thousand who are to stand without fault before the throne of God, will they feel most deeply the wrongs of God’s professed people. This is forcibly set forth by the prophet’s illustration of the last work under the figure of the men each having a slaughter weapon in his hand. One man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side. ‘And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.’ “Who are standing in the counsel of God at this time? Is it those who virtually excuse wrongs among the professed people of God and who murmur in their hearts, if not openly, against those who would reprove sin? Is it those who take their stand against them and sympathize with those who commit wrong? No, indeed! Unless they repent, and leave the work of Satan in oppressing those who have the burden of the work and in holding up the hands of sinners in Zion, they will never receive the mark of God’s sealing approval. They will fall in the general destruction of the wicked, represented by the work of the five men bearing slaughter weapons. Mark this point with care: Those who receive the pure mark of truth, wrought in them by the power of the Holy Ghost, represented by a mark by the man in linen, are those ‘that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done’ in the church. Their love for purity and the honor and glory of God is such, and they have so clear a view of the exceeding sinfulness of sin, that they are represented as being in agony, even sighing and crying. Read the ninth chapter of Ezekiel.” {Testimonies, volume 3 267}

“Now is the time when we are to confess and forsake our sins, that they may go beforehand to judgment and be blotted out. Now is the time to ‘cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.’ It is dangerous to delay this work. Satan is even now seeking by disasters upon sea and land to seal the fate of as many as possible. What is the defense of the people of God at this time?—It is a living connection with heaven. If we would dwell in safety from the noisome pestilence, if we would be preserved from dangers seen and unseen, we must hide in God; we must secure the protecting care of Jesus and holy angels. In these days of peril, the Lord would have us walk before him in humility. Instead of trying to cover our sins, he would have us confess them, as Joshua confessed the sins of ancient Israel. We profess to be the depositaries of God’s law. We profess to be building up ‘the old waste places,’ and to be raising up ‘the foundations of many generations.’ If this great and solemn work has indeed been committed to us, how important that we depart from all iniquity! {Review and Herald November 19 1908}

Thou Breakest the Ships of Tarshish with an East Wind

In Psalm 48:7 we are told that God “breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.” In agreement with this, the prophet Ezekiel states: “Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas” {Ezekiel 27:26}. So from the testimony of two witnesses, it is the East Wind that breaks the ships of Tarshish, in other words… it is the Locusts, i.e. Islam that breakest the ships of Tarshish, so the immediate question one needs to ask themselves is what is the ‘ships of Tarshish’?

In the Bible, ships symbolize economic strength. The Psalmist writes: “They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters” {Psalm 107.23} and “And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate” {Revelation 17:19}. Tarshish was a son of Javan (Gen 10:4), a name which came to reference the Phoenicians, with which Tyre was connected. The name came in later days to reference any seafaring merchant power — either to the east or the west of Israel (cp. Jonah 1:3; Ezekiel 27:12; 1 Kings 9:26; 10:22; 2 Chronicles 9:21). The Bible intimately connects Tarshish with Tyre (See Isaiah 23) which were both conquered by Nebuchadnezzar and John the Revelator uses the same language in Isaiah 23 and Ezekiel 26 and 27 to describe the fall of Babylon in Revelation 18. For example in Isaiah 23:17 we are told: “And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth” John uses the same language to describe mystery Babylon the great whom the Kings of the earth have committed fornication with (Revelation 17:2) Also in Ezekiel 27, there is great wailing and lamentation for regarding the fall of Tarshish and again John employs this in revelation 18 to describe the fall of Babylon.

Now as the East Wind breaks the Ships the Tarshish which is a symbol of economic wealth and business, so we can expect to see the same thing to be fulfilled in these last days which in effect is what happened in 2001. The East Wind, which we have already proven to represent Islam, attacked the twin towers, which is also described as the ‘World Trade Centre’. Following this attack, the economy in America (a nation which also comes under Modern Babylon, i.e. the false prophet) has been greatly de-stabilized by this ‘war on terror in the East’. One reporter stated: “There is no such thing as a free lunch, and there is no such thing as a free war. The Iraq adventure has seriously weakened the U.S. economy, whose woes now go far beyond loose mortgage lending. You can’t spend $3 trillion — yes, $3 trillion — on a failed war abroad and not feel the pain at home.” {Washington Post Linda J. Bilmes and Joseph E. Stiglitz – Sunday, March 9, 2008} Interesting that the reporter uses the term ‘woe’ to describe the financial crisis. Through the secular press the Lord desires to highlight to His people that we are now in the 3rd woe, just as he did in 1989. When America united with the Papacy to overthrow the USSR, He inspired reporters to use Daniel 11 terminology to highlight the fact that Part B of Daniel 11:40 has been fulfilled and today he is doing the same thing, yet sadly the Church will not heed this warnings nor heed to the increase of knowledge preferring to remain: “Wretched, miserable, poor, BLIND and naked”.

James 5 also writes about the weeping and howling of the rich men and in conjunction with this he councils the people of God to: “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. {James 5:8-10} This again confirms to us the nearness of the coming of the Lord and how we need to stablish our hearts as well as grudge not one against one another less we be condemned. This work can only be accomplished by the spirit which is now, at this present moment being sprinkled upon all hearts who recognize the times we are living in and the need to get ready.

Our Work

The purpose of this increase of knowledge in relation to the prophecies is so that the church will recognize the time of visitation and get ready for we are now to enter into a great time of trouble, a time of trouble such as never before. At this moment the Lord desires to establish the Mystery of Godliness in His people and that mystery is ‘Christ in You, the hope of all Glory”. The law is to be exemplified in the heart of the Believer once again. This great law which can be summarized as “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” {Matthew 7:12} The Psalmist cries: “Great peace have they which love thy law: and NOTHING shall offend them” {Psalm 119:165} We see this illustrated in the life of our precious Saviour:

“Heaven beheld the Victim betrayed into the hands of the murderous mob, and with mockery and violence hurried from one tribunal to another. It heard the sneers of His persecutors because of His lowly birth. It heard the denial with cursing and swearing by one of His best-loved disciples. It saw the frenzied work of Satan, and his power over the hearts of men. Oh, fearful scene! the Saviour seized at midnight in Gethsemane, dragged to and fro from palace to judgment hall, arraigned twice before the priests, twice before the Sanhedrin, twice before Pilate, and once before Herod, mocked, scourged, condemned, and led out to be crucified, bearing the heavy burden of the cross, amid the wailing of the daughters of Jerusalem and the jeering of the rabble.

Heaven viewed with grief and amazement Christ hanging upon the cross, blood flowing from His wounded temples, and sweat tinged with blood standing upon His brow. From His hands and feet the blood fell, drop by drop, upon the rock drilled for the foot of the cross. The wounds made by the nails gaped as the weight of His body dragged upon His hands. His labored breath grew quick and deep, as His soul panted under the burden of the sins of the world. All heaven was filled with wonder when the prayer of Christ was offered in the midst of His terrible suffering,–“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34. Yet there stood men, formed in the image of God, joining to crush out the life of His only-begotten Son. What a sight for the heavenly universe!” {Desire of Ages 760}

“He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken {Isaiah 53:7-8}

The 144,000 will go through a similar ordeal. We must drink the cup and be baptized with the baptism. “He who is selfish and grasping, eager to take every dollar he can get from our institutions for his services, is binding about the work of God; verily he has his reward. He cannot be accounted worthy to be entrusted with the eternal, heavenly reward in the mansions Christ has gone to prepare for those who deny self and take up the cross and follow Him. The fitness of men to enter the blood-bought inheritance is tested during this probationary life. Those who have the spirit of self-sacrifice manifested in Christ, when He gave Himself for the salvation of fallen man, are those who will drink of the cup and be baptized with the baptism, and they will share in the glory of the Redeemer”.—{2 Selected Messages 195.}

So what are you dear reader doing in this great work of preparation? Are you having your ‘mind-full of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour?’ {2 Peter 3:2} Are you confessing and forsaking your sins in this grand Day of Atonement in preparation to meet a Holy God, a God who is a consuming fire against sin. It is theses prophecies that are to be a witness to the world as it proves that we serve the true God, it proves without a doubt that the God of the Bible is the true God as He is the only one who can declare the end from the beginning. “Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any “ {Isaiah 44:6-8}

A God inspired movement will not destroy the foundations of the prophets of old but will establish them, this foundation also includes the history of the Millerites which the prophet Ellen White calls the ‘Established Faith of the Body.’ Today, mainstream Adventism are working to destroy the foundations of Adventism but this should not take us by surprise as we have been told that this would happen. The Organized Churches will never except the message of the hour, they rejected it in the times of Christ, in the Millerites and so it shall be in this generation as there is nothing new out of the sun. However there will be a remnant, a small remnant will come out of Mount Zion that will hold on to the true foundations of our faith and its our prayer that you reading this newsletter will be one of them. That you “will go forth a remnant, and out of Mount Zion survivors.” {2Kings 19:31} and ‘bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; and be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, BEHOLD YOUR GOD!’ {Isaiah 40:9}
