Answer:
Isn’t that what the scripture states? At the moment of Jesus’ crucifixion, “the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; and the graves were opened.” This occurred when Jesus died. “And many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”
When Jesus ascended to heaven, He led this multitude of captives—freed from the grasp of Satan, sin, and death—as trophies and evidence of His completed work for humanity while on earth. See Ephesians 4:8 (margin) and Psalm 24:7-10.
