You Are Calamity Howlers!

Objection:

You are calamity howlers! You discuss end-time events frequently and often instill fear. Why not emphasize peace like Jesus did instead?

Answer:

Jesus didn’t only speak of peace. He said, “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.” (Matthew 10:34-36). Moreover, he also spoke about end-time events; you can read about them in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21.

Our purpose is not to “howl” about calamities but to provide a Biblical explanation for them. When politicians, presidents, and prime ministers declare that something is wrong with the world and that the future looks bleak, every clear-thinking individual must ask, “What do these things mean?” Our task is to awaken people everywhere to the seriousness of our times and then to offer solutions to these perplexing questions. As a ministry with a message for this time, we aim to prepare individuals for the climax that lies ahead by examining the problem through the lens of Scripture.

In reality, we are distinct from the pessimistic voices of world authorities, who see only darkness and destruction in the future. Through the eyes of Bible prophets, we envision a bright world ahead, one with “new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.”

As the shadows deepen over the world and people’s hearts increasingly fail them from fear, only those who believe in the Second Advent of Christ can find genuine joy. The great leaders of this world have proven powerless against the alarming problems that threaten our peace. Only the Prince of Peace can provide a way of escape. That is why we preach about Christ’s coming and why we are truly happy. If the objector had listened more attentively, he would have found that our focus was not on the impending calamities but on the need for preparation and the joyous deliverance of the righteous from those calamities.
